The Santa Cruz Blur 4 C 29 SLX / XT is built for speed without requiring extra effort. The Superlight suspension system is so light that most riders carry more weight in their back pocket after the start than in their frame. Yet the bike doesn't feel "too racey" or nervous; power transfer is direct, control is maintained, and climbing is almost unnaturally smooth. The frame is 289 grams lighter than the previous generation, and you'll immediately notice that when you pick up the pace or tackle a long climb.

Where many ultralight XC racers fall into the "fine as long as nothing goes wrong" category, the Blur remains refreshingly practical. Two bottle cages in the main frame so you don't have to choose between thirst or performance. Standard components without strange, proprietary parts, so you won't suddenly be stranded somewhere in the Alps because only one obscure bolt fits. Santa Cruz supports that confidence with a lifetime warranty and direct rider support. The carbon frame is light, but certainly not fragile. Simply a bike you can train, race, and suffer with without any fuss.

For those still doubting which version is right for them: the standard Blur is optimized for pure XC efficiency, while the TR variant offers slightly more travel and grip for rougher trails. The chainstay length grows with each frame size so that the geometry is right for every rider, and a chain guide is standard so your pursuers will be looking for their chain, not you. This is not a show model or "downcountry marketing talk": it's a serious race bike capable of rearranging your PRs, overall standings, and perhaps even your ego.

  • Once again a good experience. Ordered a Sram Code RS brake set. Delivered quickly, unfortunately the handlebar clamps were forgotten but delivered without issues afterwards. Also the MMX.

  • Today, after some Googling, I went to Woest for new running shoes. I've been running in Asics Nimbus for over 20 years, and now, after a tip from a colleague, I decided to try Hoka. I was perfectly helped by the staff.....
