Like most Continental racing tires, the GP5000 uses the special Black Chili Compound. This special compound ensures that the tire can offer the ultimate balance between grip and durability. Puncture protection is thanks to the Vectran Breaker layer. This minimal anti-puncture layer is very effective and ensures that punctures are minimized. In this new version of the Grand Prix, the Vectran Breaker is even stronger than before.
The tread pattern on the edge of the running surface gives you optimal grip on the asphalt. The Vectran anti-puncture layer protects the tire better against punctures. The 'Active Comfort layer' has a shock-absorbing effect and dampens vibrations from the road surface, without negatively affecting rolling resistance.
