Fast Forward Ryot 55 Carbon Race Wheelset

THE NEW LAW IN AERODYNAMIC ROAD WHEELS!

With the aim of bringing the fastest wheel to the market, Fast Forward has developed a new rim profile, called LAW Tech. LAW is short for 'Laminar Airflow Wing' and has been specially developed to provide better aerodynamics when using wider tires by creating a smooth airflow.

The first results were already shown in the previously launched RYOT44 model, which focuses on all-round performance and use.

They are now introducing the fastest road wheel available, the RYOT55! It outperforms its competitors in real-world conditions and has been proven in wind tunnel tests. With the LAW tech rim profile, the RYOT55 provides an aerodynamic advantage of 5 watts with 25mm tire widths, whereas its predecessor, the F6 with DARC technology, was best suited with 23mm tires.

When compared to the most common competitors in the wind tunnel, the RYOT55 proved to provide an average advantage of between 1.5 and 2.7 watts. The RYOT55 thus sets the new standard in aerodynamic road wheels.

When you hit the road with the RYOT55, these wattage savings translate into the same result while saving energy, or you can go faster with the same energy input as before. This will make all the difference when you are in the final of a race or need to beat your cycling buddies at the coffee stop!

Building wheels that last

Being competitive in terms of aerodynamics is one thing, weight is also very important. At 1620 grams for the RYOT55, they build a set to last and offer excellent performance in stiffness due to the partial use of DT AeroComp spokes. The 21mm internal rim width will result in an effective tire width of 28mm when using 25mm tires.

Choose the hubs that suit you. You have the choice of the new high-performance FFWD hubs or the DT240 EXP hubs. The FFWD hubs are designed with the 2:1 spoke pattern (double the number of spokes on the critical side), also have ratchet drive and large bearings for extra durability. The DT Swiss 240 hubs have an improved EXP ratchet system. The hub components offer even higher precision with fast engagement, more stiffness combined with lower weight.

The Shimano options are suitable for both 11-speed and the new 12-speed!
